Hi, I’m Sabrina Merz. I am a Boulder psychotherapist who brings a multidisciplinary and strengths based approach to counseling. My work is based in mindfulness, acceptance, and action. I believe in each person’s innate wisdom, and the right we each have to create our own path. This means that you will be actively involved in creating your treatment and goals with me.
I have a beautiful and conveniently located office in Boulder with easy access to Foothills parkway. I also offer a variety of options out of my office on a Nederland farm, allowing our work to be accomplished in ways which are interesting and meaningful to you. This mixed method style of approach increases engagement and enjoyment during healing and growth processes. I love doing things differently, and enjoy my ability to offer equine therapy, nature therapy and play therapy to enhance treatment.
I have more than two decades of experience working with children and adults in educational and equine settings. My bachelor’s degree is from Adams State University, my master’s degree is from a CACREP approved program at Capella University. I am an LPCC and a member of the American Counseling Association. I have extensive experience with children and teenagers, and use my background as an educator and mother of four kids to inform my practice.
My work reflects many loves of my life – nature, horses, family, and health. I am a fan of camping, adventuring, and exploring with my family. Also, meditating, yoga, horseback riding, and playing with my dog, Wilson. I received my first and second degree Reiki attunements and certifications from Usui lineage. As a member of Boulder County’s Mounted Search and Rescue team, I am CPR and First Aid trained. I feel fulfilled within my life, and I would be honored to help you create your best life!
